Once someone decides to start therapy, I email them to request necessary personal and other relevant details for example name, contact details, health information etc. Please refer to your therapy contract for a details of what is requested. Upon receipt, I transfer these details to a secure system in order to store and access them.

Before the start of therapy I also email a therapy contract which includes information on the cancellation policy, confidentiality and a link to this privacy notice. You are expected to reply to that email confirming you have understood and accept the terms and conditions.

Why do I hold your information?

I hold your information to communicate with you, answer queries and provide professional and safe therapy services.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful bases I rely on for processing this information is that I have a contractual obligation.

I also have a legal requirement to hold my client records for a certain period as explained in the therapy contract. After this period the records are deleted.

In terms of email enquiries from individuals who do not go ahead with therapy, I delete their emails.

Your data protection rights

Your right of access – You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.

Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

Your right to erasure – You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to restriction of processing – You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to object to processing – You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to data portability – You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, I have one month to respond to you.

Google analytics
Like many other websites, I use Google analytics to get information about how the site is used by visitors. This information then helps to improve the website. Google analytics may track your IP address and visits to the site.

I reside in and practice from the United Kingdom and therefore irrespective of my client’s location, this privacy policy and my work are subject to the laws of England and Wales and the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) under European Union law.

As explained above, I will do my best to protect any data collected or held. However, I cannot be held responsible for third party cyber crime.
